About us

THE PEOPLE

THE FAMILY: Robert and Helen Trivett and sons Josh and Ben farm over 850 acres of grass and arable crops, together with single suckler herds of South Devon and Limousin cattle. They also carry out agricultural, building and civil engineering contracting for local farmers and builders. The original farm, based at Witherley, is home to Witherley Boarding Kennels and Cattery, and Dun-Roamin‘, a charity which cares for and rehomes stray dogs.

OUR MANAGEMENT TEAM: Our manager Chris Hubbard and assistant manager Jane Hubbard make up our sales/management team. Chris and Jane have thirty two years management and marina experience between them. Chris enjoys walking his dogs, and is a keen Leicester City F.C. supporter, and both Chris and Jane have a deep interest in narrow boats. Nathan Sands is head of maintenance & can turn his hands to anything. He enjoys water sports & often takes his dog “Taffy” with him. His main interest however is Salsa Dancing

THE MARINA SITE

The 20 acre site where the marina is located has been in the Trivett family for over 80 years, previously belonging to Harry Trivett, a well-known local farmer, and his wife Sally. We have created a canal-side conservation area and wildlife habitat adjacent to the marina, to replicate  the Site of Special Scientific Interest on the Ashby Canal, working alongside Natural England, the Canal and River Trust and Leicestershire County Council.

The main contractor for the basin was GJP Marinas and they constructed the canal entrance, basin and bridge. All the remaining infrastructure work has been undertaken by Ben Trivett and his team and Outlook Landscaping.  The excellent facilities building was constructed by Keller Construction Ltd.

We are delighted that Bosworth Marina was the winner of the Market Bosworth and Hinckley area Best Farm Diversification Scheme Award for 2015.
