Late May news

Due to increased demand, the chandlery and shop are to be extended in the next few weeks so that we can increase our range of boating items and groceries. Our boaters and Ashby Canal boaters are taking advantage of the wi-fi, Elsan disposal and pump out, showers, toilets and laundry, coal, fuel, gas and the lounge with coffee machine and TV.
We have put the final finish to about half of the road and car parking area along the Sheepy jetties, and we have also landscaped more areas of the 19 acre site. The imported material came in just before Whitsun to make up levels near the road entrance and the main road which leads up to Sheepy and Shenton jetties. The dozer, backacter and sheepsfoot roller were hard at work compacting the material to make a solid base for the road base hardcore to go down on.

MAY NEWS

The main activity during April on Bosworth Marina was constructing the compensation pond to protect the SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), further along the Ashby Canal. Please go to the gallery to see how Ben Trivett and the team built it!

TV now installed!

We have now installed the TV in the boaters’ lounge, in time for the Rugby 6 Nations. Everyone enjoyed watching the sport over the weekend.

Planting has started. Today Ben and Outlook Landscaping have started planting the trees and shrubs in the towpath area.

Snow has Fallen

February 2015

Snow has fallen on the marina in January and also this month, transforming the water and the green edges of the basin into a brilliant white winter landscape except for the area where the heat source pump prevents the formation of ice on the water’s surface.  The marina at night also looked stunning.  Continue reading

Boats In!

BOATS IN!
We have taken in some boats with limited facilities on offer: there is electricity to every bollard, water is available on the site and there is rubbish and Elsan disposal, and parking is close to every berth. Reports from the boaters are very favourable and everyone is enjoying their new home. Thank you to those who have booked berths for their patience whilst we finish off building and construction works.  Continue reading
